The Game Camera

When a grieving woman installs a night vision camera in her mini horse's corral, the specter of a human intruder on her rural Kansas ranch makes her reconsider her husband's death.

The last thing Justin gave to Ann before his unexpected death was a miniature horse named Kippy. Now, with coyotes howling each night on the Kansas prairie, Ann can't sleep.

Rachel, a local clergywoman, offers Ann a novel situation: A game camera, mounted in Kippy's corral, will show whether coyotes are endangering the little horse.

When the game camera reveals a night-vision image of a human intruder on the property, Ann isn't sure if it's a threat, or if Justin has come back to watch over her.

Rachel attempting to talk sense into her friend, realizes the best way to help Ann might involve sharing a secret her community doesn't know.

Set in rural America, The Game Camera is a story about the fears that haunt our imaginations, the ways we make sense of grief, and the task of learning to live with loss.
